Dr A.P. Maheshwari (an IPS officer of 1984 batch) gaining intense experiences during his tenures in communally sensitive towns of UP; conflict ridden zones of Assam, J&K & states impacted by maoist violence while being with the CRPF and BSF; rose to head the Bureau of Police Research and Development and Internal Security Wing of Ministry of Home Affairs. He culminated his career as Chief of the largest armed police force ,the CRPF. Post retirement his services were also utilised as advisor to Lt Governor Pondicherry.
He has been decorated with President Medal for Distinguished Services, Police Medal for Gallantry and a dozen other decorations for Internal Security, Operational excellence in difficult areas and administrative acumen.
He also received President Award for conduct of Elections as Head of CRPF and Govind Vallabh Pant award for publications.
He has been associated for training and other assignments with institutions of excellence like London Business School, IIM Ahemdabad, IIPA Delhi, NPA and various universities.
In addition, he directly supervised over a dozen training institutions at apex level under Border Security Force as well as BPR&D.
While being with BSF and CRPF for a long spell of 14 years he has made a deep impact through community participation on various environmental projects as well as those related to empowerment of women and Children as part of his personal social responsibility.
An Alumnus of SRCC, Delhi and MBA, He did his PhD in communal conflicts.
He has authored over 14 books on several poignant facets of life which have been well appreciated both in the professional as well as other eminent circles. His works have received appreciation from APJ Abdul Kalam, Gaurapant Shivani, Gopal Das Neeraj, Ruskin Bond & others. He has published over 40 articles & many of them have been picked up by National Dailies & Professional Journals.
